| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |

| learn of the death of
Sandra Blount, who passed away on June |
| 4 |
| 22, 2008; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Sandra Blount was born on June 7, 1941; her |
| 6 |
| parents were Clayton and Eleanor Tidwell; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Sandra Blount was employed with the City of |
| 8 |
| Chicago for nearly 4 decades; she began her career as a public |
| 9 |
| servant on April 19, 1965 in a clerical position; she steadily |
| 10 |
| moved through the ranks and had become Assistant Director of |
| 11 |
| Personnel of the Chicago Department of Human Services, |
| 12 |
| remaining there until her retirement on May 1, 2004; she was |
| 13 |
| described by her co-workers as an ambitious, faithful, and |
| 14 |
| trustworthy executive with exceptional leadership skills; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Sandra Blount was preceded in death by her |
| 16 |
| parents; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Sandra Blount is survived by her daughter, Sonya; |
| 18 |
| her son-in-law, Chicago Police Officer Anthony Walker; her |
| 19 |
| grandchildren, Anthony Walker Jr. and Symone; and her siblings, |
| 20 |
| Mrs. Syvilla Woods and Jacqueline; and
