SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
Rita Gonzales of Alton, who passed away 
4
on April 9, 2008; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Rita Gonzales was born on April 24, 1938 in East 
6
St. Louis; she was the daughter of Francisco and Juana 
7
(Arellano) Morales; she married Peter Gonzales on June 4, 1960 
8
in Fairmont City; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Rita Gonzales was a member of St. Mary's Catholic 
10
Church in Alton and loved to spend time with her family and 
11
grandchildren; she loved old movies and sewing; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Rita Gonzales was preceded in death by her parents 
13
and her sisters, Ollie Martinez and Lucy Garcia; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, Rita Gonzales is survived by her husband; her sons 
15
and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Susan Gonzales, Raymond and 
16
Jennifer Gonzales, and Thomas Gonzales; her daughters and 
17
son-in-law, Christina and Steven Gebben and Nancy Gonzales; her 
18
grandchildren, Matt Gonzales, Nicholas Gebben, Maria Gonzales, 
19
Adam Gebben, Brandon, Brian, and Alyssa Gonzales, Emily Gebben, 
20
and Christopher Gonzales; her great-grandchild, Madison 
21
Gonzales; and her brothers, Frank Morales, Albert Morales, and

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL

ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with

her family and friends, the passing of Rita Gonzales; and be it 
5
further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to the family of Rita Gonzales as an expression of 
8
our sympathy.
