| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Marilyn Jeanne Bigham of DuQuoin, who |
| 4 |
| passed away on March 5, 2008; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born July 5, 1930, in Pinckneyville, the |
| 6 |
| daughter of Bert L. and Mattie Belle (Akin) Hegler; on October |
| 7 |
| 6, 1962, she married Winton L. Bigham in Pinckneyville; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, She was a homemaker, a member of Sunfield United |
| 9 |
| Methodist Church, a member and past worthy matron of Eastern |
| 10 |
| Star, a 4-H leader for the Oak Grove Cornhuskers, and a former |
| 11 |
| member of the Community Consolidated District 212 School board; |
| 12 |
| she was actively involved in politics and enjoyed being an |
| 13 |
| election judge for many years; she also enjoyed camping and |
| 14 |
| spending time with her family outdoors; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, She found great joy in watching her grandkids play |
| 16 |
| baseball and basketball; she was also a St. Louis Cardinal fan |
| 17 |
| and an avid follower of Pinckneyville Panther sports; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Winton; |
| 19 |
| and her parents, Bert and Mattie Hegler; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, She is survived by her three sons and |
