| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of
Peter Cunneen, who passed away on |
| 4 |
| February 4, 2008; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Peter Cunneen received his Bachelor of Science |
| 6 |
| degree in Applied Behavioral Sciences from George Williams |
| 7 |
| College and his Master of Science degree in Human Service |
| 8 |
| Administration from Spertus College of Judaica; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Peter Cunneen had a long and distinguished career |
| 10 |
| in human services; at age 14, he worked at Camp Pompeii during |
| 11 |
| the summer; after working 12-hour days 5 days a week for 3 |
| 12 |
| months, he was paid $25, the beginning of his lifelong career; |
| 13 |
| he went on to work at the Christopher House, a settlement house |
| 14 |
| in Chicago, for 11 years; he also was the executive director of |
| 15 |
| Little Brothers/Friends of the Elderly for 2 years; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Peter Cunneen served as the executive director of |
| 17 |
| The Bridge Youth and Family Services, a comprehensive youth |
| 18 |
| service agency serving Palatine Township and northwest Cook |
| 19 |
| County, for 22 years; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, Peter Cunneen was an active member of his |
| 21 |
| community; he served on the Community Consolidated School |
