SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate were deeply 
3
saddened to learn of the death of Wesley Brazas on January 12, 
4
2008; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Wesley Brazas was born on November 1, 1935 in 
6
Chicago; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, Wesley Brazas had a distinguished education, 
8
having graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree 
9
in civil engineering; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Wesley Brazas served in the United States Air 
11
Force; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Wesley Brazas was an Illinois-licensed civil 
13
engineer and land surveyor; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, Wesley Brazas began his career by working for the 
15
Illinois Department of Transportation, then later worked for 
16
the Water Reclamation District in Chicago and the Village of 
17
Lombard; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, Wesley Brazas was a fellow in the American Society 
19
of Civil Engineers and a member of the Illinois Professional

Land Surveyor's Association; and
 
2
    WHEREAS, Wesley Brazas was a member of the St. Charles 
3
Borromeo Catholic Church of Hampshire and a 4th Degree Member 
4
of the Knights of Columbus Council 1304; and

    WHEREAS, Wesley Brazas was a devoted husband to his wife, 
6
Dolores; and


 
7
    WHEREAS, Wesley Brazas was the proud father of Wesley Jr., 
8
Christopher (Joanne), Donna (Philip), Judy, Jeanne (Marc), and 
9
Jefferson (Kathy) and the grandfather to 11 grandchildren; 
10
therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
12
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the loss of 
13
Wesley Brazas and his service to the State of Illinois, while 
14
at the same time celebrating his legacy; and be it further

 
15
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this preamble and 
16
resolution be presented to the family of Wesley Brazas with our 
17
sincere sympathies.
