SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
Randy Leslie of Elmhurst; and

 
4
    WHEREAS, Randy Leslie was a graduate of Proviso West High 
5
School; he earned his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and 
6
his master's degree in Public Safety from Lewis University; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, Randy Leslie was a 24 year veteran of the Bellwood 
8
Police Department, ascending through the department's ranks 
9
from patrolman to detective, and then to sergeant; he served as 
10
deputy chief at the time of his passing; and

 
11
    WHEREAS, Randy Leslie was a former president and a longtime 
12
member of the Boys & Girls Club of Bellwood; and


 
13
    WHEREAS, Randy Leslie was the beloved husband and best 
14
friend of Christine; he was the loving and proud father of 
15
Andrew, Randy, Nicky, and Isabella; he was the devoted son of 
16
Nancy and the late Gary Leslie and the son-in-law of Gilbert 
17
and Stella Salazar; he was the brother of Bradley and Todd 
18
Leslie and the brother-in-law of Doreen (Mike) Patti, Virginia 
19
(Milan) Culafic, Andy Salazar, Gilbert Salazar, and Stella 
20
(Mike) Stock; he was the dear grandson of Edward and Mary Groh; 
21
he was the nephew of Ed Groh; he was the dearest uncle of eight

nieces and nephews; and he was the cousin, nephew, and loyal 
2
friend to many loving people; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
4
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
5
his family and friends, the passing of Randy Leslie; and be it 
6
further

 
7
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to the family of Randy Leslie as an expression of our 
9
sympathy.
