SENATE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Mrs. Marietta L. Pillow, who passed away 
4
on December 8, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, She was a graduate of Marshall High School, 
6
National Louis University, and the Chicago Citywide College of 
7
Mortuary Pathology; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, She was previously employed at Resurrection 
9
Healthcare in Melrose Park; she served as a Teen Reach 
10
Coordinator for the Boy's and Girl's Club of West Cook County 
11
for over nine years; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, The children of the Boy's and Girl's Club called 
13
her "Mama Pillow" because she served as their mother while they 
14
were away from their homes; her motto was one of having the 
15
children leaving the Club happy because they had enjoyed 
16
themselves, or crying because they did not want to go home; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Mrs. Pillow was preceded in death by her husband, 
18
Eugene; her parents, Louis Jr. and Marjorie Kerr; and her 
19
brothers, David Ball, Harvey Kerr, and Floyd Kerr; and

 
20
    WHEREAS, Mrs. Pillow is survived by her son, Eugene A.

Pillow; her siblings, Richard Ball, Leo Kerr, Joseph Kerr, 
2
Carolyn Kerr, James Kerr, Kathryn Kerr, Charles Kerr, and 
3
Stephen Kerr; and her grandchildren, Angelo Pillow and Eugene 
4
Pillow, Jr.; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
6
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
7
her family and friends, the passing of Marietta Pillow; and be 
8
it further

 
9
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to the family of Marietta Pillow as a symbol of our 
11
sincere sympathy.
