SENATE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Alden A. Blume of Wyoming, Michigan, who 
4
passed away on October 28, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS,    Alden A. Blume served in the United States Navy 
6
from 1951 to 1955, including the Korean Conflict; and he was an 
7
active VFW member for Post 3442, Custer, South Dakota; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, He served for many years as President and coach 
9
for the Kelloggsville Little League, and also was Assistant 
10
District Administrator for District Nine baseball; and

 
11
    WHEREAS, Alden Blume enjoyed spending time in his garden, 
12
he was an avid outdoorsman, and he especially enjoyed his South 
13
Dakota hunting trips; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, Alden A. Blume  was preceded in death by his 
15
parents, Frederick and Susan Blume, and his son, Steven Ray 
16
Blume; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Alden A. Blume is survived by his loving wife of 
18
50 years, Myra; his children, Crystal Coovert, Douglas
(Tonja) 
19
Blume, Gregory (Kathleen) Blume, David (Sondra) Blume, Alden 
20
(Lori) Blume, and several grandchildren and great

grandchildren; he is also survived by his brothers, Stanley 
2
(Doris) Storm, Ivan
(Alice) Blume, Duane (Carolle) Blume, Keith 
3
Blume, and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, 
4
and nephews; therefore, be it

 
5
    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
6
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
7
his family and friends, the passing of Alden A. Blume; and be 
8
it further

 
9
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to the family of Alden A. Blume as a symbol of our 
11
sympathy.
