SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
Dorothy Knapp of East Peoria, who passed 
4
away on October 28, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Dorothy Knapp was born on January 8, 1923 in 
6
Peoria; her parents were Joseph and Paula (Lichtsinn) Cook; she 
7
married Carl H. Knapp on February 28, 1942 in Palmyra, 
8
Missouri; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Dorothy Knapp was an assistant executive director 
10
for the Board of Election Commissioners in Peoria, retiring 
11
from that position  in 1983; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Dorothy Knapp was a member of the clubs at 
13
Neighborhood House; she was a member of Royal Neighbors of 
14
America, the Illinois Association of Election Commission 
15
Officials, Greater Peoria Chapter of 319 AARP, and the First 
16
Christian Church in Peoria; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Dorothy Knapp was preceded in death by her 
18
husband, Carl, and her sister; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, Dorothy Knapp is survived by her daughter, Carol 
20
A. Knapp; her son, Terry C. Knapp; her grandsons, Nicholas and

Derek Knapp; and her several cousins; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
3
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
4
her family and friends, the passing of Dorothy Knapp; and be it 
5
further

 
6
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to the family of Dorothy Knapp as an expression of 
8
our sympathy.
