SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Michael C. Jenkins, a sergeant with 
4
twenty-seven years of service with the Illinois State Police; 
5
and

 

6
    WHEREAS, Michael Jenkins was born on July 10, 1952 and 
7
departed this life on September 27, 2007; and
 
8
    WHEREAS, Michael Jenkins was awarded the Purple Heart in 
9
1992 after being injured in the line of duty; and
 
10
    WHEREAS, Michael Jenkins was assigned as an instructor at 
11
the Illinois State Police Academy where he was an example for 
12
the new recruits; and
 
13
    WHEREAS, Michael Jenkins acted as a mentor and role model 
14
for Illinois State Police troopers and supervisors through both 
15
his actions and his words; and
 
16
    WHEREAS, Michael Jenkins was the beloved husband of 
17
Lorraine "Rainey" Jenkins, nee Hudson; he was the loving father 
18
of Robert Jenkins, Tamika Jenkins, and Tamara Jenkins; he was 
19
the loving brother of Janice, Darnella, Marsha, Clinton, and 
20
Ron Reineke; he also leaves his loving mother-in-law, Mary T.

Hudson; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
3
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
4
his family and friends, the passing of Michael C. Jenkins; and 
5
be it further

 
6
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to the family of Michael C. Jenkins as a symbol of 
8
our sympathy.
