SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of Melanie J. Kirk of Evanston, who passed 
4
away on September 14, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Melanie J. Kirk was born on May 25, 1968 in 
6
Evanston; her parents were Tilton Sr. and Lorraine Kirk; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, Melanie J. Kirk was educated in the Evanston 
8
public schools; she attended Western Illinois University; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Melanie J. Kirk was employed with the Advocate 
10
Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where she worked in 
11
ambulatory surgery; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Melanie J. Kirk united with the First Church of 
13
God Christian Center in 2003 and truly loved the church; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, Melanie J. Kirk was preceded in death by her 
15
sister, Phyllis Kay Kirk; and
 
16
    WHEREAS, Melanie J. Kirk leaves to mourn: her precious 
17
children, Portia Kirk, Kailynn Kirk, and Caleb and Carly 
18
Johnson;  her loving parents, Tilton Sr. and Lorraine; her 
19
siblings, Gail (Robert) Moore, Linda Kirk, Gloria Kirk,

Margaret (James) Hampton, Tilton Kirk Jr., Mildred (Ted) Brown, 
2
and Quentin Kirk; her 11 nieces and nephews; her best friend, 
3
Chandra Mabry; her special friend, Leonard Johnson; and a host 
4
of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends; therefore, 
5
be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
7
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
8
her family and friends, the passing of Melanie J. Kirk; and be 
9
it further

 
10
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11
presented to the family of Melanie J. Kirk as an expression of 
12
our sympathy.
