SENATE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
Terry Schauer of West Chicago, who passed 
4
away on August 2, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Terry Schauer was born and raised in Chicago; he 
6
served in the Army from 1960 to 1964, with an honorable 
7
discharge as a specialist fifth class in the Army Security 
8
Service; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Terry Schauer was the former owner of the Ace 
10
Hardware store in downtown Winfield and was greatly involved in 
11
charitable activities; as a member of the Winfield Lions Club, 
12
he held many offices and was a former president; and he served 
13
as a trustee for the Winfield Fire Department; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, Terry Schauer was a recipient of the Melvin Jones 
15
Award from the Winfield Lions Club; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, Terry Schauer is survived by his sons, Michael and 
17
Allen Schauer; his granddaughter, Krysta Schauer; his 
18
brothers, Wayne (Sandra) and Warren (Dorothy) Schauer; and his 
19
many nieces and nephews; and

 
20
    WHEREAS, Terry Schauer will be remembered by all who knew

and loved him as a dedicated member of the Winfield community; 
2
therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
4
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
5
his family and friends, the passing of Terry Schauer; and be it 
6
further

 
7
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to the family of Terry Schauer as an expression of 
9
our sympathy.
