| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |

| learn of the death of
Brandon Kitchens of Naperville, who |
| 4 |
| passed away on July 25, 2007; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Brandon Kitchens was born on August 20, 1983 in |
| 6 |
| Warner Robins, Georgia; his parents were Patrick and Barbara |
| 7 |
| Kitchens; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Brandon Kitchens graduated from Naperville North |
| 9 |
| High School in 2002; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Brandon Kitchens served four years in the United |
| 11 |
| States Air Force, where he briefed thousands of crews of airmen |
| 12 |
| in Germany on the hazards they would face in the skies over |
| 13 |
| Iraq; he had been lent by the Air Force to the Army, which |
| 14 |
| needed personnel trained in intelligence, and was deployed to |
| 15 |
| Iraq to investigate the risks on the ground and then brief |
| 16 |
| convoy drivers and others; he served three tours of duty in |
| 17 |
| Iraq and one tour in Afghanistan, where he traveled with |
| 18 |
| convoys, evaluated areas to build airstrips, and ducked for |
| 19 |
| cover during a bombing of the Green Zone in Baghdad; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, After his return from Iraq, Brandon Kitchens |
| 21 |
| worked for Chicago 2016, an organization devoted to bringing |
