SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Ronald D. Fruland of Newark, who passed 
4
away on July 12, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Ronald D. Fruland was born September 29, 1929 in 
6
Mission Township, LaSalle County to Jesse and Gladys (Hamre) 
7
Fruland; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, Ronald Fruland married Marcia Ann Latkoff on 
9
November 27, 1951 in Newark; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Ronald Fruland was a Sergeant in the United States 
11
Army from 1951 to 1953 and saw duty in the Korean Conflict; he 
12
retired from the L.O.F. Glass Factory in Naplate in 1985; he 
13
was a 50-year member of the Newark American Legion Post #459, 
14
the Newark Lutheran Church, and also held membership in the 
15
Newark Fire Department, Newark Sportsman Club, and Sheridan Rod 
16
and Gun Club; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, 
18
Marcia; and his brother, James Fruland; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, Ronald D. Fruland is survived by his daughter, 
20
Ronda Thomas; his son, Gary (Susan) Fruland; his four

grandchildren, Jessica Thomas, Luke Thomas, Jared Fruland, and 
2
Jessie Fruland; and his two sisters, Donna Hilt and Linda 
3
Beecher; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
5
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
6
his family and friends, the passing of Ronald D. Fruland; and 
7
be it further

 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to the family of Ronald D. Fruland as a symbol of our 
10
sympathy.
