    AMENDMENT NO. ___.  Amend Senate Resolution 299 as follows:

on page 1, line 14, by replacing "sludge" with "total suspended

solids"; and

on page 1, by replacing lines 18 through 20 with "in the Lake;

and"; and

on page 2, line 6, by deleting "toxic"; and

on page 3, immediately below line 7, by inserting the 
9
following:

    "RESOLVED, That we urge British Petroleum to review and 
11
reconsider the wastewater treatment facilities proposed to 
12
serve the expansion and reconfiguration of its Whiting, Indiana 
13
refinery with the specific intent to supplement or enhance 
14
treatment efficiencies to eliminate or reduce projected
