SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Dorothy C. Virgin of Bethalto, who passed away on June 21, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Virgin was born July 25, 1919, in Millstadt to John and Clara (Baum) Rehling; she married Virlin Virgin on August 7, 1937, in Millstadt; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Virgin worked with her husband as a real estate agent, operating Virgin Real Estate in Bethalto for 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy and her husband loved to travel with their camper and enjoyed ballroom dancing; she enjoyed sewing and reading and loved the St. Louis Cardinals; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Virgin was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson in infancy, Jeffrey Scott Virgin; her great-grandson, Jacob Cox; her brothers, Eddie and Bill; and her sisters, Flossie and Eleanor; and

WHEREAS, In addition to her husband, Dorothy Virgin is survived by a daughter, Virginia Cox; her sons and their wives, Don and Jo Ann Virgin, John and Sharon Virgin, David and Terri Virgin, and Robert Virgin and Nancy Mandel; her ten grandchildren; and her seven great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Dorothy Virgin; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dorothy Virgin as a symbol of our sympathy.
