SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joseph George Masulla of Alton, who passed away on June 13, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Masulla was born March 4, 1930, in Godfrey to James and Emma (Levi) Masulla; and

WHEREAS, He married the former Bernadine Boucher on September 9, 1950, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Alton, and they were married 54 years before her passing in 2005; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Masulla was a member of the Union Clay Workers and retired from the Alton Brick Company; he later went to work for the city of Alton with the Public Works Department for 11 years until his retirement; he was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Alton, then attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton; he enjoyed collecting antiques, fishing, and gardening; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his wife, Joseph Masulla was also preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Catherine Michael, Mary Scott, Amelia McGuire, Agnes Masulla, and Josephine Connoyer; and his brothers, James and Ollie Masulla; and

WHEREAS, Jospeh Masulla is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and John Saffer, and Mary and Steve Friedberg; his sons and a daughter-in-law, Leo Masulla, and Dennis and Lois Masulla; his grandchildren, Benjamin Saffer, Louise Masulla, Valerie Pruitt and her husband, Steven, Christopher Masulla, and Amanda and Sara Friedberg; his six great-grandchildren; and his brother, Louis Masulla; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Joseph George Masulla; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joseph George Masulla as a symbol of our sympathy.
