SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
John Romanelli Sr. of Hinsdale, who 
4
passed away on March 28, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, John Romanelli Sr. was born on April 17, 1922 in 
6
Chicago; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, John Romanelli Sr. attended Proviso East High 
8
School and graduated from pharmacy school at the University of 
9
Illinois; he served in the Army as a paramedic during World War 
10
II; he worked for Gray's Drugs in Northlake, eventually 
11
becoming the owner, where he remained until his retirement in 
12
1987; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, John Romanelli Sr. loved all sports and was a 
14
lifelong White Sox fan; he was an avid golfer for more than 70 
15
years and was a lifelong member of the Riverside Golf Club; he 
16
spent many years as a caddie; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, John Romanelli Sr. was preceded in death by his 
18
brothers, Tony and Rocco; and his sister, Marie; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, John Romanelli Sr. is survived by his wife, Sarah, 
20
nee Provenza; his children, John (Maryann), Dr. Ronald

(Therese), and Donald (Janeane); and his seven grandchildren, 
2
Mara, John, Michael, Ross, Christopher, Alex, and Mia;

therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
5
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
6
his family and friends, the passing of John Romanelli Sr.; and 
7
be it further

 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to the family of John Romanelli Sr. as an expression 
10
of our sympathy.
