SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael J. Malkovich of Benton, who passed away on April 13, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Michael Malkovich was born on October 16, 1950, in Christopher, the son of Joseph Malkovich and Phyllis (Minier) Malkovich; and

WHEREAS, He served the City of Benton as city clerk for more than 20 years; he diligently served five different mayors throughout his career and was a dedicated servant of the City of Benton; and

WHEREAS, He enjoyed cooking, yard work, and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Malkovich was preceded in death by his father and son's mother, Connie Malkovich; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Michael Malkovich will be felt by all who knew and loved him, especially by his son, Travis Malkovich; his mother, Phyllis Malkovich; his sister and brother-in-law, Jan and Guy Williams; his brothers and sisters-in-law, John Victor and Tracey Malkovich, Mark and Apryl Malkovich, Tony and Diana Malkovich, and Tom and Becky Malkovich; and his several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Michael J. Malkovich; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Malkovich as a symbol of our sympathy.
