SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bette P. Brinkoetter of Godfrey, who passed away on March 12, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Bette Brinkoetter was born June 12, 1921, in Hutchinson, Kansas; her parents were Archie and Pauline (Hickman) Kimball; she married Walter D. Brinkoetter on May 4, 1946, at the St. James Catholic Church in Decatur; he passed away on January 6, 1963; and

WHEREAS, Bette Brinkoetter was employed as a teacher for 28 years in the Alton School District until 1985, then taught for six years at Ss. Peter and Paul until 1991; she was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and Altar Society; and

WHEREAS, She loved to garden, do arts and crafts, especially painting, and play golf, and she helped at the Senior Center Food Bank and Food Pantry in Alton; and

WHEREAS, In addition to her husband, Bette Brinkoetter was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Sue Ann Brinkoetter; and her son-in-law, Laurent Visconti ; and

WHEREAS, Bette Brinkoetter is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Emily J. and Neil Schulz, Donna M. and Rod Johnson, Laura J. Brinkoetter, and Mary B. Brinkoetter-Visconti; her grandchildren, Joseph, Ben and Andy Schulz, Matthew and Martha Johnson, Anders and Noah Torjesen, and Luke, Nicolas and Clair Visconti; her other extended family; and her many dear friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Bette P. Brinkoetter; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bette Brinkoetter as a symbol of our sympathy.
