SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of David Walkington of Bethalto, who passed away on January 31, 2007; and

WHEREAS, David Walkington was born on June 26, 1942 in Alton; he was the son of the late Marion E. and Virginia L. (Thompson) Walkington; he married Ann L. Fosha in Bethalto on May 23, 1980; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Walkington owned and operated Metroplex Financial Services in Alton for 20 years; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto, where he served on the Board of Elders; he was a member and past president of the Bethalto Rotary Club; Mr. Walkington also served on the Bethalto Zoning Board; and

WHEREAS, David Walkington was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, David Walkington is survived by his wife, Ann Walkington; his daughters, Traci Cox, Erika (husband Tompall) Gibson, and Danielle Walkington; his grandchildren, Alexandria and Jessica Gibson; his sister, Carolyn Lewis; his brother, Kenneth M. Walkington; and his niece, Carrie Liley; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of David Walkington; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of David Walkington as a symbol of our sympathy.
