AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2603

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2603 by replacing

everything after the enacting clause with the following:

    "Section 5. The Public Community College Act is amended  by 
5
changing Section 7-17 as follows:

    (110 ILCS 805/7-17)  (from Ch. 122, par. 107-17)

    Sec. 7-17. Any member or officer of the the board, any 
8
officer of the
city or any other person holding any trust or 
9
employment under the board
or city who wilfully violates any of 
10
the provisions of Sections 7-6
through 7-16 shall be guilty of 
11
a business offense and may be fined not
exceeding $10,000 and 
12
forfeits his right to and shall be removed from
his office, 
13
trust or employment. Any such member, officer or person is

14
liable for the amount of any loss or damage suffered by the 
15
board
resulting from his violation of any of those Sections, to 
16
be recovered
by the board or by any taxpayer in the name and

for the benefit of the
board, in a civil action. Any taxpayer 
2
bringing an action
under this Section must file a bond for all 
3
costs, and is liable for all
costs taxed against the board in 
4
that suit. This Section does not bar
any other remedy.
