SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 		













New Act










    Creates the War on Terrorism Veterans Act.  Provides that a memorial honoring persons who earned the Southwest Asia Service Medal serving in either Operation Enduring Freedom or Operation Iraqi Freedom may be constructed by a private entity on a portion of the State property in Oak Ridge Cemetery.  Effective immediately.

    AN ACT concerning State government.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the War on 
5
Terrorism Veterans Act.

    Section 5. War on Terrorism Veterans Memorial.   A memorial 
7
honoring persons who earned the Southwest Asia Service Medal  
8
serving in either Operation Enduring Freedom or Operation Iraqi 
9
Freedom may be constructed by a private entity on a portion of 
10
the State property in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, 
11
Illinois.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
13
becoming law.
