SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 		













15 ILCS 405/30 new










    Amends the State Comptroller Act.  Requires that the Comptroller publish each comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) within 6 months after the end of the fiscal year to which the report relates.  Requires that the Comptroller give notice of a publication delay to the Governor and legislative leaders and on the Comptroller's official website. Effective July 1, 2007.

    AN ACT concerning State government.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The State Comptroller Act is amended  by adding 
5
Section 30 as follows:

    (15 ILCS 405/30  new)

    Sec. 30. Comprehensive annual financial reports. The 
8
Comptroller shall publish each comprehensive annual financial 
9
report (CAFR) within 6 months after the end of the fiscal year 
10
to which the report relates.  If the report is not published 
11
within that period, the Comptroller must promptly give notice 
12
of the delay to the Governor, the Speaker and Minority Leader 
13
of the House of Representatives, and the President and Minority 
14
Leader of the Senate and post notice of the delay on the 
15
Comptroller's official website.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 
17
2007.
