AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1529

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1529 on page 2, by 
3
replacing lines 21 through 26 with the following: 
4
"under the contract. The failure of the public body awarding 
5
the
contract to insert the prevailing wage stipulation in the

6
project specifications or the contract  does not excuse a

7
contractor or subcontractor from paying, and is not a defense 
8
to an action brought because of the failure of   a
contractor or 
9
subcontractor to pay, the prevailing wage to
all laborers, 
10
workers, and mechanics performing work under a
contract or 
11
subcontract covered by this Act."; and

on page 3, by replacing lines 14 through 18 with the following: 
13
"in violation of this Act. The failure to provide the required

14
stipulations does not excuse the contractor, subcontractor, or

15
any lower tiered subcontractor from paying, and is not a 
16
defense to an action brought because of the failure of   a

17
contractor, subcontractor, or
lower tiered subcontractor to

Act.".
