| AN ACT concerning employment.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 |
| 13-50 as follows:
|

| (105 ILCS 5/13-50 new)

| Sec. 13-50. Contract cancellation; Macon-Piatt Regional |
| 8 |
| Office of Education. All contracts between the Illinois |
| 9 |
| Department of Corrections or the Illinois Department of |
| 10 |
| Juvenile Justice and the Macon-Piatt Regional Office of |
| 11 |
| Education to provide educational services for the Department of |
| 12 |
| Corrections or the Department of Juvenile Justice shall be |
| 13 |
| canceled in accordance with the terms of those contracts. Upon |
| 14 |
| cancellation, each employee of the Macon-Piatt Regional Office |
| 15 |
| of Education who had been providing educational services for |
| 16 |
| the Department of Corrections or the Department of Juvenile |
| 17 |
| Justice shall be offered certified employment status under the |
| 18 |
| Personnel Code with the State of Illinois. To the extent that |
| 19 |
| it is reasonably practicable, unless otherwise agreed to by the |
| 20 |
| Department of Central Management Services and the collective |
| 21 |
| bargaining representative, the position offered to each of |
| 22 |
| these persons shall be at the same facility and shall consist |
| 23 |
| of the same duties and hours as previously existed under the |
