| AN ACT concerning public aid.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing Section 9A-10 as follows:
|

| (305 ILCS 5/9A-10) (from Ch. 23, par. 9A-10)
|

| Sec. 9A-10. Support Services.
|
| 8 |
| (a) The
The Illinois Department shall provide or pay for
|
| 9 |
| child care and other support services, if otherwise |
| 10 |
| unavailable, to
enable recipients to participate
in or prepare |
| 11 |
| for education, training and employment programs authorized
|
| 12 |
| under this Article. The Illinois Department shall provide and |
| 13 |
| pay for such
support services in accordance with procedures, |
| 14 |
| standards and rates
established by rule. |
| 15 |
| (b) Support services may include:
|
| 16 |
| (1) transportation;
|
| 17 |
| (2) child care;
|
| 18 |
| (3) job search allowance;
|
| 19 |
| (4) initial employment expenses;
|
| 20 |
| (5) required books, fees, supplies; and
|
| 21 |
| (6) required physical examinations and medical |
| 22 |
| services.

| (c) Participation shall
not be required if support services |
