HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Trojans of 
4
Triopia-Meredosia High School on winning the Class 1A State 
5
Football Championship; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, The Trojans ended the season with a perfect record 
7
of 14 wins and no losses; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, On November 28, 2008 they defeated the Stark 
9
County Rebels with a final score of 42-7; the championship game 
10
was held in Memorial Stadium on the University of Illinois 
11
Urbana campus; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, This was the first State championship for the 
13
Trojans since 1975; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, The Head Coach of Triopia-Meredosia is Rich 
15
Thompson;



Assistant Coaches are  Andy Phelps, Phil Roegge, Tom 
16
Sallee, Brian Marsaglia, and Tim Chapman; and the team managers 
17
are Brandon Six, Lydia Reither, and Kirby Mixer; and

    WHEREAS,



The Trojans are: seniors:  David Arendt, Adam

Brockhouse, Brian Carriger, Bobby Chute, Jacob Millard, Jacob 
20
Perry, Kellan Phelps, Jacob Whited, James Williams, and Mark

NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

congratulate the Coach, Assistant Coaches, Managers, and team 
11
members of the Trojans Football Team on their winning season 
12
and wish them the best in their future endeavors; and be it

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

presented to the Trojans Football Team as a symbol of our

respect and esteem.
