HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Keith Williams of 
4
Flossmoor on the occasion of being named "King Dad 2008" by The 
5
Dads Association of the University of Illinois at 
6
Urbana-Champaign on October 31, 2008; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, The King Dad designation was made to recognize one 
8
special dad on the annual U of I Dad's Day for his support, 
9
encouragement, and inspiration towards his children; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Keith Williams was nominated to be "King Dad 2008" 
11
by his daughter, Ashley Williams, who wrote an essay describing 
12
the reasons that her dad should be King Dad, the best advice 
13
their dad ever gave them, the dad's local or community 
14
involvement, and what their dad would say about being 
15
nominated; Mr. Williams was selected from a pool of hundreds of 
16
nominees to be King Dad; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Beyond his status as an excellent father, Keith 
18
Williams is also a tireless volunteer within his community; he 
19
also does outreach work with children in Ghana and West Africa; 
20
and

 
21
    WHEREAS, Keith Williams serves as a model of hard work,

integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of 
2
Illinois; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5
congratulate Keith Williams on the occasion of being named 
6
"King Dad 2008" and wish him continued success and happiness in 
7
the future; and be it further

 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to Keith Williams as a symbol of our esteem and 
10
respect.
