HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Arielle 
4
Christopher of Streamwood, Little Miss Strawberry Princess 
5
Queen, on her success with the Good Deeds Toy Drive; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, She is the nine-year old daughter of Cindy and Lee 
7
Christopher of Streamwood; she was crowned the first ever 
8
Little Miss Strawberry Princess Queen at the 26th annual Long 
9
Grove Strawberry Festival in June of 2008; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, This was the first year for the beauty pageant; 
11
eleven titles were awarded in six age divisions ranging from 
12
0-12 months up to 9 years old; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, Her award included a custom-made Strawberry Queen 
14
crown, trophy, sash, and a Strawberry Shortcake gift bag; she 
15
is Streamwood's Miss Illinois Princess and a member of the Miss 
16
Illinois Scholarship Association Princess Mentoring program, 
17
part of the Miss America organization; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, She has no official duties, but she is a Good Will 
19
Ambassador, she has made about 20 appearances since June, she 
20
has rode in about six parades, and has created a platform, 
21
"Promoting community spirit is a berry sweet thing to do!"; and

    WHEREAS, Arielle created the Good Deeds Toy Drive to 
2
promote her platform, which went on for about a month; the 
3
drive brought attention to the needs of smaller pediatric 
4
hospitals outside of Chicago that needed toys for their 
5
pediatric patients; therefore, be it

 
6
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
7
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
8
congratulate Arielle Christopher and wish her continued 
9
success in everything she does in the future; and be it further

 
10
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11
presented to Arielle Christopher as a symbol of our respect.
