HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Sherry Meadows of 
4
Mt. Vernon on the occasion of receiving the Governor's People 
5
Are Today's Heroes (PATH) Award in recognition of her work with 
6
and commitment to the Alzheimer's Association; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, The Governor's PATH Award recognizes groups or 
8
individuals who, through their hard work and commitment, have 
9
improved the lives of people in their community in the areas of 
10
health care, public safety, education, and economic 
11
development; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Sherry Meadows has worked with the Alzheimer's 
13
Association since 1997, when her husband was diagnosed with the 
14
disease; as a senior advocate for Jefferson County, she 
15
participates at speaking events with various area groups in 
16
order to educate the public about Alzheimer's disease; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Sherry Meadows also serves on the United Way, the 
18
American Red Cross, the Catholic Social Service, Senior Saints, 
19
and the Jefferson County Operation Iraqi Freedom boards; she is 
20
also a member of the Mt. Vernon Rotary and Business and the 
21
Professional Women Club; and

    WHEREAS, Sherry Meadows' unwavering commitment to 
2
increasing awareness about Alzheimer's disease and to help 
3
those afflicted by this tragic disease is worthy of the 
4
greatest respect; therefore, be it

 
5
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7
congratulate Sherry Meadows on the occasion of receiving the 
8
Governor's PATH Award and wish her continued success and 
9
happiness in the future; and be it further

 
10
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11
presented to Sherry Meadows as a symbol of our esteem and 
12
respect.
