HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the residents of 
4
the Village of Forsyth on the occasion of the village's 50th 
5
anniversary; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, The Village of Forsyth was incorporated  on April 
7
18, 1958; located at the geographical center of Illinois, 
8
Forsyth is a growing and vibrant community that boasts the 
9
area's lowest overall sales tax rate; the village also utilizes 
10
a comprehensive long-range plan to ensure successful business 
11
and residential growth; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, The Village of Forsyth has consistently been a 
13
leader in regional economic development and in the quality of 
14
its library services; the village has built and maintained 
15
modern and efficient municipal services, including a new $5.9 
16
million water treatment plant; the village has also maintained 
17
over 10 beautiful parks, which contain over 10 miles of bike 
18
trails; and

    WHEREAS, The Village of Forsyth has held the Tree City USA 
20
designation since 1996; and

    WHEREAS, The Village of Forsyth has shown itself  to be a

vibrant community that places a strong emphasis on family, 
2
recreation, education, and overall quality of life; therefore, 
3
be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6
congratulate the residents of the Village of Forsyth on the 
7
occasion of the village's 50th anniversary and wish them 
8
continued success and happiness in the future; and be it 
9
further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11
presented to the Village of Forsyth as a symbol of our esteem 
12
and respect.
