HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the 
4
Routt Catholic High School Rockets baseball team on the 
5
occasion of winning the Class 1A State baseball championship 
6
title; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, Led by Coach Bobby Lonergan, the Routt Catholic 
8
High School Rockets defeated the Marissa-Coulterville Meteors 
9
in a 13-3 victory at Silver Cross Field in Joliet to win the 
10
Class 1A State baseball championship title on May 31, 2008; 
11
after scoring 8 runs in the fourth inning, the

game was called 
12
in the fifth inning via the 10-run mercy rule; the team ended 
13
their season with a fantastic 25-4 record; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, The senior members of the Routt Catholic High 
15
School Rockets baseball team are Andrew Barber,
Blake Davis,

Scott Lindsey,
Caleb Ruyle,
Derek Sellers,
Devin Vaughn, and

Joe Zeller; the junior
members of the Routt Catholic High

School Rockets baseball team are Nick Cosgriff,

of the Routt Catholic High School Rockets baseball team

    WHEREAS, The Routt Catholic High School Rockets baseball

team serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication

for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
8
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
9
congratulate the members of the Routt Catholic High School 
10
Rockets baseball team on the occasion of winning the Class 1A 
11
State baseball championship title and wish them continued 
12
success and happiness in the future; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14
presented to Rockets Coach Bobby Lonergan as a symbol of our 
15
esteem and respect.
