HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to recognize Sherry Meadows and her 
4
hard work and efforts to have November declared "Alzheimer's 
5
Awareness Month"; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Sherry Meadows late husband, John, was diagnosed 
7
with Alzheimer's in 1997, and she immediately joined the 
8
Alzheimer's Association, St. Louis Chapter; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, She was recently recognized by the Alzheimer's 
10
Association as one of 12 Volunteers of the Year for her 
11
dedication and loyalty to the St. Louis Chapter; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, She originally joined the Association for a 
13
support system and to learn about the disease in an effort to 
14
treat her husband at home; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, She currently serves as the senior advocate for 
16
Jefferson County; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Through her hard work, she was instrumental in 
18
getting Patty Blagojevich, wife of Illinois Governor Rod 
19
Blagojevich, to declare November "Alzheimer's Awareness 
20
Month"; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3
recognize Sherry Meadows and her dedication to the Alzheimer's 
4
Association and helping other people work through this 
5
devastating disease; and be it further

 
6
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to Sherry Meadows as a symbol of our respect and 
8
esteem.
