HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Lisa DePatie on the occasion of being named the recipient of the Civilian Employee of the Year Award by the Plainfield Police Department; and

WHEREAS, The Civilian Employee of the Year Award was established by the Plainfield Police Department to recognize a civilian employee whose service to the department is respected and admired by his or her peers; and

WHEREAS, Lisa DePatie began working for the Plainfield Police Department in 1995 as a part-time patrol secretary; she soon became a full time employee, working her way up to become secretary to the Chief of Police; and

WHEREAS, Lisa DePatie has excelled in her position, particularly in the area of budget preparation; in addition, she has taken on the responsibility of working on department grants, having succeeded in obtaining a $442,355 grant for the school resource officer position and school security cameras; she was also instrumental in the department's move to its new police station; and

WHEREAS, Lisa DePatie serves as president of the Suburban Law Enforcement Administrative Professionals and has spearheaded the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Plainfield for 10 years; and

WHEREAS, Lisa DePatie serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Lisa DePatie on the occasion of being the recipient of the Civilian Employee of the Year Award and wish her continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Lisa DePatie as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
