HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to honor Caron George Stillmunkes 
4
and Plainfield Police Commander Kevin Greco on their efforts to 
5
restore the Plainfield War Memorial; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, The monument honors the men of Plainfield who 
7
fought in the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, and World 
8
War I; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Through the efforts of Commander Greco, the 
10
monument was recovered and restored; it had been sold back to 
11
the granite company and found its way to a Joliet car 
12
dealership; through his efforts, the names were added back to 
13
the monument and it was placed in a new location near Village 
14
Hall in downtown Plainfield; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, Caron Stillmunkes is researching the family 
16
histories of the names on the monument so that the stories of 
17
their lives are preserved forever; and

    WHEREAS, Through their hard work and dedication to the 
19
monument, history will continue to live on in Plainfield; 
20
therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3
honor Caron George Stillmunkes and Kevin Greco for their 
4
efforts and wish them the best as they continue working to 
5
preserve history in Plainfield; and be it further

 
6
    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
7
presented to Caron George Stillmunkes and Kevin Greco as 
8
symbols of our respect and esteem.
