| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Caitlin Brecklin |
| 4 |
| of Ambassador Girl Scout Troop 804 on the occasion of winning |
| 5 |
| the Gold Award from the Girl Scouts organization; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The Gold Award is the highest recognition that a |
| 7 |
| Girl Scout can obtain; the award is equivalent to the rank of |
| 8 |
| Eagle awarded by the Boy Scouts; to earn a Gold Award, a girl |
| 9 |
| must meet several requirements, including leadership projects, |
| 10 |
| career exploration, meeting challenges to learn about herself |
| 11 |
| and the world around her, earning four interest projects, and |
| 12 |
| the completion of a community service project of over 60 hours; |
| 13 |
| and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, For her Gold Award project, Caitlin Brecklin chose |
| 15 |
| to form a "Space Club" where children in 5th to 8th grades |
| 16 |
| could come every other week and do activities, as well as learn |
| 17 |
| more about astronomy and space exploration; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Caitlin Brecklin is currently a senior at |
| 19 |
| Northside College Prep in Chicago; she has chosen to pursue a |
| 20 |
| career in astrophysics and has always been fascinated with |
| 21 |
| outer space; she has been accepted to attend Michigan State |
| 22 |
| University in September of 2008; and
