| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Christina Gussie |
| 4 |
| of Ambassador Girl Scout Troop 804 on the occasion of winning |
| 5 |
| the Gold Award from the Girl Scouts organization; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The Gold Award is the highest recognition that a |
| 7 |
| Girl Scout can obtain; the award is equivalent to the rank of |
| 8 |
| Eagle awarded by the Boy Scouts; to earn a Gold Award, a girl |
| 9 |
| must meet several requirements, including leadership projects, |
| 10 |
| career exploration, meeting challenges to learn about herself |
| 11 |
| and the world around her, earning four interest projects, and |
| 12 |
| the completion of a community service project of over 60 hours; |
| 13 |
| and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, After a rocky start with her original idea, |
| 15 |
| Christina Gussie devoted her Gold Award project to collecting, |
| 16 |
| repairing, and cleaning used formal, prom, and bridesmaid |
| 17 |
| dresses that were then donated to organizations for |
| 18 |
| distribution to girls who, without a proper dress, would not be |
| 19 |
| able to attend their prom; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, Christina Gussie is currently a senior at St. |
| 21 |
| Ignatius College Prep; she has been accepted to Gonzaga |
| 22 |
| University in Spokane, Washington, but is still holding out for |
