HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence 
3
was founded in 1994 and is a publicly and privately-supported 
4
not-for-profit organization; it was created to significantly 
5
raise Illinois' worldwide competitiveness by improving the 
6
performance of its institutions and businesses; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, The Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence 
8
has created an award patterned after the Malcolm Baldrige 
9
National Quality Award; the award is an annual recognition of 
10
Illinois organizations that have demonstrated exemplary 
11
approach, deployment, and results in their overall quality 
12
systems and processes; it is presented to organizations that 
13
serve as role models for quality, customer satisfaction, and 
14
performance excellence; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, The Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence 
16
has awarded the 2007 Lincoln Silver Award for Progress Towards 
17
Excellence to the following organizations: Advocate Good 
18
Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove; Delta Dental of Illinois, 
19
Lisle; Community Consolidated School District #93, 
20
Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, and Hanover Park; Memorial Health 
21
System, Springfield; and OSF St. Mary Medical Center, 
22
Galesburg; and

    WHEREAS, In addition, two other Illinois organizations 
2
were recognized with the 2007 Lincoln Bronze Award for 
3
Commitment to Excellence for their earnest efforts to adopt and 
4
apply continuous improvement principles; these recipients are 
5
Passavant Area Hospital, Jacksonville; and Provena Health, 
6
Mokena; therefore, be it


 
7
    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
8
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
9
recognize The Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence 
10
and its efforts to assist Illinois organizations to strive for 
11
performance excellence, and we thank each of the organizations 
12
the Foundation has recognized for the devotion to excellence 
13
they have demonstrated; and be it further

 
14
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
15
presented to The Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence 
16
and to each 2007 Performance Excellence Award recipient as an 
17
expression of our respect and esteem.
