HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Beth Tikvah 
4
Congregation in Hoffman Estates on the occasion of the 
5
congregation's 50th anniversary; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Founded in 1958 by thirteen families looking to 
7
raise their children with the same principles and teachings as 
8
their ancestors, the Beth Tikvah Congregation is a Reform 
9
Jewish Community which currently serves over 300 families; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, The Beth Tikvah Congregation has dedicated much of 
11
their time and energy over the last 50 years to delivering a 
12
meaningful educational experience, from pre-school to 
13
continuing adult education; the Beth Tikvah Religious School 
14
has an enrollment of over 250 children and boasts a 
15
multi-station computer lab to enhance Jewish learning, as well 
16
as programs that offer Hebrew and Judaica studies for high 
17
school credit; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, The Beth Tikvah Congregation has witnessed the 
19
incredible growth within the region, from farmland to the 
20
bustling suburb that it is today; the congregation has also 
21
maintained an active presence in their community, providing 
22
many beneficial services, such as supporting a sister Temple in

Krasnador, Russia, their wonderful Outreach support 
2
organization, and supporting Jewish social activities for 
3
their members through their congregational affiliates, 
4
Sisterhood, the Men's Club, and LAFF (Life after Fifty-Five); 
5
and

    WHEREAS, The kindness and civic dedication displayed by the 
7
congregation of the Beth Tikvah Congregation is worthy of the 
8
greatest respect; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
10
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
11
congratulate the Beth Tikvah Congregation in Hoffman Estates on 
12
the occasion of the congregation's 50th anniversary and wish 
13
them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it 
14
further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16
presented to the Beth Tikvah Congregation as a symbol of our 
17
esteem and respect.
