HOUSE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate William Barney, 
4
Principal of Reed School in Will County School District 92, on 
5
his retirement; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Mr. Barney has been a principal in District 92 for 
7
26 years, first at Ludwig Junior High and later at Reed School; 
8
and

 
9
    WHEREAS, He has served for 38 years in public education, as 
10
a teacher, as an athletic director, and as a principal; and

 
11
    WHEREAS, He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 
12
Education from Illinois State University, his Master's degree 
13
in Educational Administration and Supervision from Northern 
14
Illinois University, and a Certificate of Advanced Study from 
15
Illinois State University; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, He holds membership in the Illinois Principals 
17
Association and the National Association of Elementary School 
18
Principals and has been active in both organizations; he 
19
received the IPA's Elementary Principal of the Year (National 
20
Distinguished Principal) for 2008/2009; and

    WHEREAS, In addition to his work as Principal of Reed 
2
School, he also taught mathematics at Joliet Junior College for 
3
23 years, and retired in December of 2007; therefore, be it

 
4
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6
congratulate William Barney on his retirement and wish him the 
7
best in his future endeavors; and be it further

 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to William Barney as a symbol of our respect.
