| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Historic preservation is an effective tool for |
| 3 |
| managing growth, revitalizing neighborhoods, fostering local |
| 4 |
| pride, and maintaining community character, while enhancing |
| 5 |
| livability; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Historic preservation is relevant for communities |
| 7 |
| across the nation, both urban and rural, and for Americans of |
| 8 |
| all ages, all walks of life, and all ethnic backgrounds; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, It is important to celebrate the role of history |
| 10 |
| in our lives and the contributions made by dedicated |
| 11 |
| individuals in helping to preserve the tangible aspects of the |
| 12 |
| heritage that has shaped us as a people; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, "Look at Local History Month" is the theme for the |
| 14 |
| celebration of Preservation Month throughout McHenry County, |
| 15 |
| Illinois, being held in conjunction with National Preservation |
| 16 |
| Month; therefore, be it
|
| 17 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 18 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 19 |
| the month of May 2008 and every month of May thereafter be |
| 20 |
| designated as Look at Local History Month in the State of |
| 21 |
| Illinois.
