| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
F.T. |
| 4 |
| "Mike" Graham of Libertyville, who passed away on December 29, |
| 5 |
| 2007; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, F.T. Graham was born on September 10, 1927 in |
| 7 |
| Gurnee; his parents were Thomas and Anna Graham; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, F.T. Graham graduated from Warren Township High |
| 9 |
| School in Gurnee in 1945; he attended Blackburn College in |
| 10 |
| Carlinville and Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, |
| 11 |
| Michigan; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, F.T. Graham was a salesman at Miller-Krueger Dodge |
| 13 |
| in Libertyville for many years; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, F.T. Graham served as Supervisor of Libertyville |
| 15 |
| Township from 1969 until 1989 and from 1997 until 2002, where |
| 16 |
| his compassion for assisting those in need was very well known |
| 17 |
| in the community; he was a former member of the Lake County |
| 18 |
| Board, serving for 18 years; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, F.T. Graham was the founder of the first open |
| 20 |
| space district in the Midwest, persuading Libertyville voters |
|

| to borrow $22.6 million to fund the first township Open Space |
| 2 |
| District in the State; he was widely known for his relentless |
| 3 |
| pursuit for land preservation; his goal was to set aside and |
| 4 |
| protect hundreds of acres of open space in perpetuity; and |
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, F.T. Graham's tireless efforts resulted in the |
| 6 |
| acquisition, preservation, and development of dozens of new |
| 7 |
| preserves and sites in Lake County; and |
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, F.T. Graham was a member of St. Joseph Parish in |
| 9 |
| Libertyville and the Cardinal Stritch Council of the Knights of |
| 10 |
| Columbus; he was also an active participant at Marytown; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, F.T. Graham was preceded in death by his parents; |
| 12 |
| his brothers, Thomas Graham, Edward Graham, and Walter Graham; |
| 13 |
| and his sisters, Helen Victor, Elizabeth Drobnick, Mary Miller, |
| 14 |
| and Peggy Deuel; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, F.T. Graham is survived by his former wife and |
| 16 |
| dear friend, Geri Graham (nee Yore); his children, Julie |
| 17 |
| (Jerry) Adzima and Michael (Karen) Graham; his grandchildren, |
| 18 |
| Stephanie Adzima, Graham Adzima, Kathleen Graham, Mary Graham, |
| 19 |
| Michael Graham, Patrick Graham, John Graham, and Bridget |
| 20 |
| Graham; his sister, Ann Skyrius; and his many loving nieces and |
| 21 |
| nephews, who fondly referred to him as "Uncle Mick"; therefore, |
| 22 |

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |

| mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of F.T. |
| 4 |
| "Mike" Graham; and be it further
|
| 5 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 6 |
| presented to the family of F.T. Graham as a symbol of our |
| 7 |
| sincere sympathy.
