HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Ray and Sharon 
4
Johnson on the occasion of their 30 years of dedicated service 
5
to the people of the City of Marion as the owners of The 
6
Village Jeweler jewelry store; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, Ray and Sharon Johnson opened The Village Jeweler 
8
at the Town and Country shopping plaza in 1980; they rebuilt 
9
the store in the same location after a tornado struck the plaza 
10
in 1982; and

 
11
    WHEREAS, Ray and Sharon Johnson moved The Village Jeweler 
12
to a location on Carbon Street in the Marion Plaza Shopping 
13
Center in 1990, where they remained until their retirement; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, Ray and Sharon Johnson plan to spend their 
15
retirement years attending their grandchildren's events and 
16
activities, as well as going on camping trips, traveling, and 
17
turkey hunting; and

    WHEREAS, Ray and Sharon Johnson have developed an excellent 
19
reputation as well-respected and trustworthy business owners; 
20
their quality merchandise, fair prices, and top-notch customer 
21
service will be missed by many consumers in the City of Marion

and beyond; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
3
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
4
congratulate Ray and Sharon Johnson on the occasion of their 
5
retirement and wish them continued success and happiness in 
6
their future endeavors; and be it further

 
7
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to Ray and Sharon Johnson as a symbol of our esteem 
9
and respect.
