| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |

| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
Jeff |
| 4 |
| Pearl of Clinton, who passed away on November 5, 2007; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Jeff Pearl served as the fire chief of the Clinton |
| 6 |
| Fire Department for 4 years; as fire chief, he was responsible |
| 7 |
| for increasing the amount of training of the department's |
| 8 |
| firefighters and for procuring new equipment; he formerly |
| 9 |
| served as assistant fire chief with the Weldon Fire Department; |
| 10 |
| and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, Jeff Pearl also served as vice-chairman of the |
| 12 |
| DeWitt County Board and was chairman of the Property Committee; |
| 13 |
| he also served on the CenCom and 911 Boards; he also served as |
| 14 |
| the last chairman of the board's Nursing Home Committee; as a |
| 15 |
| board member, he was instrumental in the movement to make 911 |
| 16 |
| address signs mandatory in DeWitt County and the drive to |
| 17 |
| require Clinton Landfill to have a federal permit for its |
| 18 |
| chemical waste management services; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Jeff Pearl is survived by his wife, Lori, and his |
| 20 |
| children, Brandy and Dustin; and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, Jeff Pearl will be remembered by all who knew and |
