HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to honor Dr. John Kaeser on his  
4
many years of service in the dental field; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Dr. John Kaeser had to make a difficult choice 
6
when he went to college; he attended school on a baseball 
7
scholarship, but majored in pre-dental studies; he chose to 
8
enter the dental profession, earning his D.D.S. degree in 1956; 
9
and

 
10
    WHEREAS, After serving two years in the United States Air 
11
Force, Dr. Kaeser returned to Marion and established his 
12
practice; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, While dentistry became his vocation, baseball 
14
remained his avocation; for 35 years Dr. Kaeser served as an 
15
umpire in Colt and Pony league games; when not officiating at 
16
baseball games, Dr. Kaeser has served as the President of 
17
Community Savings Bank and as a member of the Marion Cultural & 
18
Civic Center Trustees; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, John Kaeser was born on May 14, 1932 in Marion; he 
20
attended school in Marion,   Southern Illinois University at 
21
Carbondale, and the University of Illinois-Chicago; he began

practicing dentistry in the United States Air Force during the 
2
Korean War, and then established his own practice in Marion 
3
from 1958 to 2000; he has served as Clinical Director of the 
4
Dental Hygiene Program at John A.  Logan College since 2000; 
5
therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
7
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
8
congratulate Dr. John Kaeser on his long career in the dental 
9
field and thank him for his many years of service to the Marion 
10
community; and be it further

 
11
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12
presented to Dr. John Kaeser as a symbol of our respect.
