HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the staff of 
4
Northwestern Memorial Hospital on the dedication of its new 
5
Prentice Women's Hospital; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, The new Prentice Women's Hospital encompasses 
7
nearly 1 million square feet of space; the hospital features 
8
328 patient care beds, all private rooms, and a unique, 
9
welcoming design; the hospital will be among the top 3 
10
maternity centers in the United States, with up to 13,600 
11
deliveries per year; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, The Prentice Women's Hospital will also have the 
13
largest comprehensive breast cancer center in the Midwest and a 
14
significantly expanded neonatal intensive care unit, as well as 
15
2 floors that will be dedicated to caring for the hospital's 
16
hematology and oncology patients; and

    WHEREAS, Northwestern Memorial Hospital's 142 years of 
18
service, along with their continuous growth in the face of new 
19
health challenges, is deserving of the greatest respect; 
20
therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
2
congratulate the staff of Northwestern Memorial Hospital on the 
3
dedication of its new Prentice Women's Hospital and wish them 
4
continued success in the future; and be it further

 
5
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6
presented to a representative of  Northwestern Memorial 
7
Hospital as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
