HOUSE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Joshua Crackel of 
4
North Aurora on the occasion of his achievement of the coveted 
5
rank of Eagle Scout; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Joshua Crackel was born on May 14, 1989 in 
7
Phoenix, Arizona; his parents are Clinton and Michele Crackel; 
8
he has 2 brothers, a sister, and 6 nieces and nephews; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Joshua Crackel moved with his parents to Minnesota 
10
in 1991 and resided in the towns of Hastings and Inver Grove 
11
Heights; he also lived in White Bear Lake, where he began 
12
school and joined the Cub Scouts; in 1998, Joshua Crackel moved 
13
with his parents to Illinois, living in Naperville before their 
14
move to North Aurora; he joined Boy Scout Troop 514 in 
15
Warrenville in 2000 at the age of 11, remaining with the troop 
16
through his 18th birthday in May 2007; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Joshua Crackel has been an active member within 
18
his community; he is an active member of Batavia United 
19
Methodist Church; he has served on church youth summer trips to 
20
eastern Kentucky and Slidell, Louisiana, where he helped to 
21
improve the homes of many needy families; he also assists with 
22
many other church duties during services, including the

operation of the church's sound board; and
 
2
    WHEREAS, To earn the designation of Eagle Scout, Joshua 
3
Crackel was charged with the cleaning and improvement of his 
4
church's flower beds, a task requiring over 100 hours of 
5
effort; he managed to complete this daunting task while 
6
maintaining a 3.5 grade point average and working a part-time 
7
job; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, Joshua Crackel currently lives with his parents in 
9
North Aurora and is a senior at West Aurora High School; he 
10
plans to pursue a college degree at a university within the 
11
State; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Joshua Crackel's dedication to his community and 
13
country and his willingness to help those in need makes him a 
14
model for the citizens of the State of Illinois; therefore, be 
15
it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
17
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
18
congratulate Joshua Crackel for his achievement of the rank of 
19
Eagle Scout and wish him continued success and happiness in the 
20
future; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
