| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |

| Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Heit family on |
| 4 |
| their farm, the Heirdom Stock Farm in Douglas County, being |
| 5 |
| named a Sesquicentennial Farm in 2007 by the Illinois |
| 6 |
| Department of Agriculture; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Hans Heit, Sr., also known as John Hoyt, was born |
| 8 |
| in Erfde, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany on August 28, 1828, |
| 9 |
| immigrated to the United States, and purchased the farm known |
| 10 |
| as Heirdom Stock Farm on October 6, 1857; it is located in |
| 11 |
| Section 10, Garrett Township, Douglas County; Hans Heit, Sr. |
| 12 |
| and his wife, Maria Thomsen Heit, owned the farm until his |
| 13 |
| death on April 22, 1897; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Hans Heit, Jr., son of Hans Heit, Sr., was born on |
| 15 |
| the farm on November 16, 1877; he and his wife, Dorathea Ritz |
| 16 |
| Heit, owned the farm until his death on October 24, 1950; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Orval Christoph Heit, son of Hans Heit, Jr., was |
| 18 |
| born on the farm on June 8, 1902; he and his wife, Leola Frahm |
| 19 |
| Heit, owned the farm until his death on March 16, 1974; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, Lyle Dean Heit, son of Orval Christoph Heit, was |

| born on the farm on November 19, 1934; he and his wife, |
