HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to honor Larry Wiers, 
4
Superintendent of Troy School District 30-C, on his retirement; 
5
and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Larry Wiers began his educational career as a 
7
social studies teacher at Troy Junior High School from 1974 to 
8
1979; he taught social studies again from 1982 to 1984, and 
9
again from 1985 to 1986; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Larry Wiers served as Assistant Principal of Troy 
11
Junior High School in the school years from 1979 to 1982, 1984 
12
to 1985, and from 1986 to 1987; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, He served the District as Director of Elementary 
14
Instruction from 1987 to 1989; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, He served as the Assistant Superintendent of 
16
Curriculum and Instruction from 1989 to 2001; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Larry Wiers took on the role of Superintendent in 
18
July of 2001; he has made the decision, after 33 years of 
19
service and leadership to the students of Troy School District 
20
30-C to retire; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3
congratulate Larry Wiers on his retirement and wish him a happy 
4
retirement and continued success in the future; and be it 
5
further

 
6
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to Larry Wiers as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
